Parent & Family Programs

Cal Poly Parent & Family Programs provides support, resources and exciting programming for the proud parents, family members and supporters of Cal Poly students. The department facilitates communication between and among parents and the university, support student success by increasing parent awareness of university resources and help parents develop strategies to meet the unique challenges of parenting students through the college years.

Student Affairs

Cal Poly Student Affairs aims to ensure all students have the support & resources they need to thrive at Cal Poly! Student Affairs includes the following departments:

• Student Life - This includes several departments relating to life at Cal Poly outside the classroom such as clubs & organizations, athletics & club sports, Fraternity & Sorority Life, University Housing, cross cultural resources, and much more!
• Health & Well-Being - General well-being is very important to your student's success at Cal Poly. This department includes the Recreation Center, Campus Health and Wellbeing (which offers both health and counseling services), Safer (sexual assault prevention) along with Men & Masculinity! 
• Academic & Student Support - Cal Poly offers many programs to support academic success such as the Student Academic Services, Career Services, the Disability Resource Center, the Dream Center (for undocumented students), and the Transfer Center! 
• Parents & Supporters/Other - Cal Poly has many resources for parents & supporters who want to stay engaged while their student is at Cal Poly. This includes Parent & Family Programs and Parent & Student Philanthropy, as well as various other Orientation and engagement events. 

Campus & Community Safety

Cal Poly offers several student safety services including:

• Cal Poly Police Department - A full service, on campus police department which provides round-the-clock professional law enforcement
• Safety Escort Services - Safety escort vans available for designated pick-up and drop-off locations on campus during the evening
• Sexual Assault Resources - Resources for victims of sexual assault or any other type of sexual abuse
• Safety App- Rave Guardian - Resource for Rave Guardian offers Cal Poly users a single safety app that can send anonymous tips, set a safety timer for self-guided on-campus safety walks, text Mustang Patrol directly for safety walks, connect to 24-hour support services.
• Campus Health & Wellbeing - Health & Counseling Services
• City of San Luis Obispo Police Department

• City of San Luis Obispo Healthcare & Hospitals
