SLO Days Involvement

Getting involved with SLO Days is a great way to help shape new students' first experience of Cal Poly by working with the first part of our two-part orientation. Lead groups of new students and their supporters around campus, answer questions, and develop your leadership skills!

Connect with new Mustangs as a SLO Days Leader. Stay in SLO for the summer in a paid position as you help welcome new students and their parents & supporters to Cal Poly at SLO Days.

 

Summer Operations Managers oversee the logistics of SLO Days and manage our Summer Crew. SOMs gain experience in peer management and large-scale event planning! Be a part of the planning and development team responsible for the coordination of Cal Poly's  summer orientation, SLO Days!

 

 

Spring Training FAQs 

Can I still apply to be an Orientation Leader?

Yes! Applications are now open Summer Crew Application

What is the Spring Training time commitment?

We ask all attending Spring Training to keep their Tuesday or Wednesday nights available from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST during Spring Quarter. 

Spring Training will also consist of online training modules that will be required to complete. The time it takes to complete these training may vary based on the content and the pace at which a Leader-in-Training (LIT) completes them. 

When will Spring Training begin?

The first mandatory Spring Training meeting will take place Tuesday, April 16 or Wednesday April 17th. Logistics and details will be covered in the first meeting.

I no longer want to be an Orientation Leader, what do I do?

If you are no longer interested in being an Orientation Leader, please email wow@calpoly.edu stating you would like to be removed from the Orientation Leader training and roster. 

I have not received a confirmation email for submitting my OL app, what do I do?

Confirmation emails are not automatically sent after an application is submitted. If you would like to check on the status of your application, please email wow@calpoly.edu and ask for your application status to be checked. 

I received an email saying my application is incomplete, but I thought I submitted it. What do I do?

For your Orientation Leader application to be complete, you must click "finish" at the bottom of the very last page, then close out of your web browser. If this step is not completed, your application will not be recorded as submitted. 

You can also email wow@calpoly.edu with your question, and they can add you to the list of "completed" apps.

How do know if my application was fully submitted?

Confirmation emails are not automatically sent out once you have submitted your application. If you have a question about your application status, please email wow@calpoly.edu and they can check the status of your application.

Those who have fully submitted their applications will receive weekly updates (at a minimum) via email from NSTP regarding Spring Training.
