Transfer SLO Days is set up in two parts to give transfer all the necessary information and to build community as they start their Cal Poly journey.

This session covers your academic transition to Cal Poly as well as how to prepare for class registration.
Transfer Student Week of Welcome Experience
New Student and Transition Programs provides two ways that Transfer students can participate in the Week of Welcome. Transfer Students select one of experiences when they register for the Week of Welcome.
- Small Group Experience: This experience provides Transfer students with the opportunity to navigate the Week of Welcome in a group setting. In the group experience, Transfer students will attend various presentations and activities as a group, lead by two orientation leaders. The two group leaders will plan out your schedule for the whole week so all you need to do is be ready to participate! The group experience is open to Transfer students living on-campus and open to those who live off-campus as well.
- Cross Culture Experience - Small Group: This Week of Welcome option seeks to form a community for students who identify as a member of an underrepresented group including, but not limited to: various racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, citizenship, sexual orientations, and economic class. This experience provides Transfer students with the opportunity to navigate the Week of Welcome in a group setting. In the group experience, Transfer students will attend various presentations and activities as a group, lead by two orientation leaders. The two group leaders will plan out your schedule with a focus on celebrating student's identity and building community.
Transfer Orientation Fees
The orientation registration fee for Transfer students covers the access to presentations, materials, schedule, and program staffing. Programs include access to the Transition Toolkit, Transfer SLO Days and WOW.
WOW programming includes the following
- PolyCard pickup and WOW Check in days/times
- Awareness Programming
- Big Fall Welcome and WOW Closing
- New Mustang SWAG
- College Connection Day|Academic Day events
- Transfer student social
- Meal dollars (added to Poly Card) for meals throughout WOW
- Participation in various Transfer specific activities
- Club Showcase event
Transfer Students participating are encouraged to bring with them a minimum of $25 cash for extracurricular activities and snacks or meals not included with Campus Dining plan.
