Cal Poly Welcomes You to the 33rd Open House!
Open House is a three-day event in April that showcases the Cal Poly experience and offers a look into life as a Mustang. All admitted students, their supporters, and the broader San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly alumni communities are invited to attend.
Weekend Overview
This year's Open House will be held April 9-11, 2026. Admitted students will learn about the Cal Poly community through events including farmers’ market, academic sessions, interactive classrooms, a campus showcase and other experiences.
Campus Preview Night
Open House kicks off at the Downtown SLO Farmer’s Market from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 9. Explore downtown San Luis Obispo while meeting students from a variety of Cal Poly clubs and organizations.
Admitted Students’ Discovery Day
Immerse yourself in Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing ethos on Friday, April 10. You’ll have an opportunity to hear from your college dean, university and student leaders, faculty in your major, experience what hands-on learning looks like, and hang out with other admitted and current Cal Poly students. A variety of information sessions will be offered by Housing, Financial Aid and Dining, among others.
Poly Royal Celebration
Celebrate the Mustang Legacy Saturday, April 11, with a parade, campus showcase with over 300 clubs, and student performances. The San Luis Obispo community, prospective students, Cal Poly alumni, and campus community members are all invited to join the festivities.
Registration Information
Registration is only required for Admitted Students' Discovery Day on April 10. Registration will open in mid-March when emails are sent to admitted students. An RSVP is not required for events held April 9 or 11. There are some special events that require tickets such as Poly Royal Rodeo, Alumni Beer and Wine Garden, and certain sporting events.
