Get all the information you need and start building community at SLO Days. Transfer students are required to participate in a comprehensive, two-part session.
Part One: Introduction to Cal Poly
You’ll receive an overview of key campus resources, opportunities and support services to help you successfully transition to campus life at Cal Poly. This session is offered in person or virtually. There will be supporter sessions offered for Part One.
Virtual Session
In-Person Session
- July 24-25; Friday-Saturday*
* The mandatory presentations and activities will be covered on Friday, July 24. The overnight experience is optional for transfer students (but so much fun!) and built into the cost. On Saturday, July 25, breakfast will be provided and additional info sessions and activities will be offered but not required.
Part Two: Major-Specific Academic Preparation
This is a pre-assigned virtual session based on your major. When you registered for SLO Days Part One, you will be automatically assigned your major specific date for SLO Days Part Two. You will meet with your college advisors to prepare for class registration and your first semester at Cal Poly. This step is essential to ensure you understand your academic path and feel confident moving forward. Supporters are not included on SLO Days Part Two.
Virtual Sessions
- Aug. 5 or 6; Wednesday-Thursday (major dependent)
General Schedule Overview
General Schedule Part 2 Schedule Overview
In the morning, students will hear from the Transfer Center, University Advising, and the Office of the Registrar. After a lunch break, students meet with their academic college advisors.
