Positivity, Woo, Maximizer, Arranger, Adaptability
Dale Stoker serves as Director at Cal Poly's New Student and Transition Programs, where he brings extensive experience in student engagement, employer relations, and orientation programming. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Master of Business Administration from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.
As a student, Dale was deeply involved in orientation programs, serving as both a team member and leader for three years. His passion for building community began early — he even met his wife, Mary, during an orientation icebreaker on her first day.
Dale began his professional career in Alumni Relations at his alma mater before moving to Stanford Law School in a similar capacity. In 2015, he joined Cal Poly as an Employer Development Specialist in Career Services and later advanced to Associate Director of Employer Services. He now leads New Student & Transition Programs, supporting new students and their families as they begin their Cal Poly journey.
A strong advocate for service and community engagement, Dale volunteered more than 800 hours during college at a local elementary school and community health clinic. He participated in two Hurricane Katrina relief trips to New Orleans and led three service trips to Jamaica focused on youth sports and personal development. Locally, he has served on the founding board of U40 and as a docent for an environmental nonprofit in San Luis Obispo.
Outside of work, Dale enjoys exploring the Central Coast with Mary, cooking, hiking, attending sporting events, and cruising on his e-bike. He is also the proud caretaker of two pet tortoises, Kuri and Lola.
